Work for us

What's it like to work with VAMW Care? We offer a friendly and caring working environment where the emphasis is on providing creative, flexible and person centred supports to adults with learning difficulties. We use an approach based on a concern for the promotion of individualisation, integration and choice, supporting the development of lifestyles meaningful to the individuals themselves.

If you have excellent values, can work both as part of a team and on your own initiative and are interested in supporting people to lead fulfilled lives within their own communities then VAMW is for you.

Learning and Development

We believe that by investing in our staff, they will go on to provide the excellence that we have come to expect. We have a "Core Training Programme" which all new members of staff are expected to complete within the first year of employment. We also have additional "Service Specific Training" to reflect the fact that we provide person centred services, tailored to suit the needs of each individual and their staff teams.

Investor in People

VAMW Care is an Investor in People, not only are we proud of this accolade but we believe in the entire philosophy that each person employed within an organisation has a vital role to play and the smooth running of VAMW is dependent on its employees at all levels.

Positive About Disabled People

VAMW Care is a Positive About Disabled People Employer it is a recognition given by Jobcentre Plus to employers who have agreed to make certain positive commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled people.

Support Worker

We currently support a number of people who live in their own homes and some people who are currently living with their parents who require support to make the move to their own home.  Would you be able to support them through this transition and beyond to have a happy and fulfilling lifestyle?  Are you lively, energetic and creative?  Do you have a good sense of humour?   Can you offer flexibility to ensure that they receive the support that they require (some of who receive 24-hour support)?

Previous experience in care would be beneficial although it is not essential as training will be made available to meet their need.

Being a driver would be advantageous.

VAMW Care is an Equal Opportunities Employer and we are fully committed to staff development.

All candidates will be required to complete a Protection of Vulnerable Adults (PVG) Scheme record.  VAMW Care is an Equal Opportunities Employer and is committed to staff development.
